Dr. Robert John graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Economics and Science. He then attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry graduating with honors. He completed his general practice residency at the Medical College of Ohio where he was awarded Otolaryngology resident of the year , Dr. John went on to pursue a combined Doctor of Medicine degree with honors from Wayne State School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship at St. John’s Medical Center and his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the Detroit Medical Center.
Dr. John has extensive training in facial trauma surgery, orthognathic surgery, dental implants, reconstructive facial surgery, oral pathology, anesthesia, dental extractions, and bone grafting.
He is board certified and a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac and Basic Life Support.
His professional memberships include the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Michigan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Detroit Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. John recently served as the Program Director of the Oral maxillofacial residency program at the Detroit Medical Center , prior to accepting the position he had served as the assistant residency director . He is currently on staff at Henry Ford Hospital and St. Joseph Mercy Oakland. He has been serving the Oxford, Lapeer, and Lake Orion areas for over 16 years.
