Patients undergoing IV sedation will generally require a preoperative consultation so that Dr. John can review their medical history and give appropriate preoperative instructions. The items below are a simplified list of preoperative instructions for those patients that are going to receive IV sedation at our office. Also see the Surgery Instructions page for more details.

Nothing to eat or drink 6 hours prior to your appointment time

Take prescribed medications only with a sip(s) of water unless
         otherwise instructed

Leave out eye contacts

Bring a responsible driver to take you home

 

Dr. Carolyn John and the staff at Seven Oaks Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery are experienced and trained at providing conscious IV sedation and general anesthesia. Dr. John has obtained her anesthesia training at St. John's Hospital of Queens, New York.
